During fundraising, how can we as founders come across as insightful, vs trying to justify your existence (sounding defensive)?

One way is to focus on articulating a clear value prop of “why you will grow”, independent of others existing or not existing in your space.

It’s magical when founders come across as just as insightful and innovative even if the potential investors don’t know of your category or competitors.

Let’s say you do a lay of the land mapping and can show your own niche / whitespace even in a crowded field.Your job is to articulate that you can succeed i

rrespective of your adjacent players doing extremely well, or them doing not well at all.

Don’t tie your success on their failure because, frankly you aren’t that good and won’t be able to promise your competitors forced or unforced errors.
