HeyPix.com stopped accepting new registrations because they are in the process of completing their acquisition by CNet and integration with WebShots.
Their reasoning for this lame act is extremely hilarious.

Their excuse: Potential new users will be better served creating accounts directly on Webshots because they will anyways be transferring their accounts to Webshots in the future.
The real reason is to prevent more people from getting free 1 year premium webshots memberships.
Guys, most internet users aren’t that stupid. If you have a reason, put it out clearly. Don’t mask it under fake layers of “user friendliness”.
